As exams are around the corner, many are trying their best to study and reach the finish line - Final Year Exams. But there are some that might give up near the finishing line, thus i hope students will not give up so easily and say "next time then study", but rather say "I will study now!"
1. Visualize far and put it in writing. Review your goal frequently. Your goal should be specific, realistic and able to achieve. There should be a time limit attach as well.
2. Try to do your planning at the same time every day. Use this time to review past accomplishments as well as future things to do.
3. Write out a To Do list every day. Include items that can be completed or still pending to do.
4. Separate your To Do list into A, B and C priorities. "A" items are important to your long term success, "B" may be urgent but not as important and "C" are those that would be nice to do if you have the time.
5. Start with the A items. Don't work on a C just because it's easy to do. Also, break your A items into small segment, so they're easy to accomplish.
6. Strike off items as you complete them to give yourself a sense of accomplishment!
7. Don't jam your day full of activities. Leave time for emergencies, special opportunities and thinking time.
8. Be your own manager. Ask yourself if you have met your goals, and what must you change in your plan to make you achieve them.
9. Do it now, don't procrastinate. Human tends to leave things done by saying "next time".
10. Always plan time for balance; include family, fitness, recreation and social activities.
Conduct a time study to see how you're doing and where the opportunities for improvement lies. Many people are only able to spend one quarter of their time on top priority activities. Moving this up to one third of the week means almost 4 more hours per week on key activities.
Stress symptoms include mental, social, and physical. Just to name afew symptoms such as exhaustion, loss of appetite and headaches. Feelings of frustration may accompany stress as well.
If you feel that stress is affecting your studies, do something that will calm your mind.
Just a few pointers that i can conjure up, hopefully able to help u guys destress since exams are soon approaching :)
Remove yourself from the stressful situation Give yourself a break if you think u reached your limit. Continue after you're refresh and it'll more effective.
Don't sweat the small stuff Try to prioritize a few important things and let the rest slide.
Get enough sleep Many of us like to have late nights. So lack of rest just aggravates stress.
Set realistic goals for yourself Giving yourself too much of a pressure is a major cause, therefore be realistic and slowly work your way up. :)
Learn how to best relax yourself Meditation and breathing exercises have been proven to be very effective in controlling stress. Practice clearing your mind of disturbing thoughts.
Work off stress with physical activity, whether it's sports related or hanging out with friends, everyone needs a rest!
Going with stress If you can't fight what's bothering you and you can't flee from it, flow with it and try to use it in a productive way
Most importantly, if stress is putting you in a bad state or affecting your life, you can alternatively talk it out with your good friends or maybe seek advice from your teachers :)
Hopefully this mini guide do help u guys in being less stress :)
Mr Leonard tutored me in elementary mathematics (E.Maths) for about 4 months, just before my O Levels when I was in secondary 4. His style of teaching was quite different, in the sense that he was somewhat more strict and pushed me to do more, although there was a balance of humor and jokes in between so as to lighten up the atmosphere and that learning wouldn’t get too boring.
He used different colored pens to write and explain concepts to me, which I found very effective as the different colours were useful in helping me to notice and absorb all the information, instead of being in just 1 color all the way – as after some time the brain gets used to it and may not click and understand. It was therefore easier to remember ideas and concepts, especially by linking them to particular colour.
Eg: If Pythagoras’Theorem was written in red, whenever I saw red color I would think of the Pythagoras’Theorem.
He has immense content knowledge, in that he knows what he is taking about and is usually able to bring it across in a way that I can understand, although there are times when I would ask him many questions and he would reply me with equally pertinent answers which did help to clarify my doubts. He is patient with me even though sometimes I asked some weird questions, he did try his best to answer them.
If there was a concept I didn’t understand, he would try to explain to me in many different ways until I finally comprehend. Then, he would drill and make me do many questions of that particular concept, so that I would be able to keep in my head and understand what I had just learnt.
I also met up with him 3 times or more a week – practice makes perfect. As the frequency of sessions meant more ‘homework’, so I also had to discipline myself to finish up the assignments. Thus, I was practicing and doing much of the same concepts, so the more I did, the more mistakes I made, which meant that I had the chance to correct them now instead of during the O Levels.
My grades did improve nevertheless, soon I found it much easier to do the Maths Ten-Year Series exam papers which he and my teachers gave me to do. Steadily, I got relatively high marks for those mock papers and it also help me to increase my confidence. He also praises his students when they deserve, which helps as it affirms them and gives more self-confidence, although he will also rebuke to correct me at times. Especially when I make a really silly or careless mistake that I shouldn’t have.
All in all, he has been a great help to me in polishing up my Mathematics, and my results jumped from a C6 to an A2 for my O Levels, which was really a lot of difference from before.

Beaming with glee, Aloysius went to work with a smile on his face knowing he'll get to watch Hancock after work! Knocked off earlier than usual as he had alr planned a meeting with his friends.
So Aloy headed down to cathay, had dinner and caught the show! And sadly.. prices went up again? it cost the prince $10.50.. not a pinch of salt.. cos its so expensive!! *grumbles*
Anyway.. they say:
There are heroes.. superheroes... and then there's Hancock. With great power comes great responsibility everyone knows that. But only Hancock doesn't. Bluntly, conflicted, sarcastic, and misunderstood, Hancock's well-intentioned heroics might get the job done and save countless lives, but always seem to leave jaw-dropping damage in their wake. The public has finally had enough as grateful as they are to have their local hero, the good citizens of Los Angeles are wondering what they ever did to deserve this guy. Hancock isn't the kind of man who cares what other people think until the day that he saves the life of a PR executive. Well and its time for the sardonic superhero begins to realize that he may have a vulnerable side after all. Facing that will be Hancock's greatest challenge yet and a task that may prove impossible as Ray's wife, Mary, insists that he's a lost cause.
But i say:
He is the local hero that nobody want to have! Samaritan one moment, villain next. Causing destruction in its wake whenever he does something good. A lonely guy that feels sad as nobody cared and understands him. Poor fella. A sudden twist in the ending, so expect the unexpected. But i tink its quite ridiculous? Anyway still quite a not bad show to catch. I'll rate it 7/10.
Today i'm introducing another favourite, rising star, Crystal Liu Yi Fei! What more can i say about her? Pretty, rising popularity and peaking at the age of 20. This pretty angel has captivated my heart both with her talent and looks! And i do hope she'll captivate yours too!
Name: Crystal Liu Yi Fei Chinese name: 刘亦菲 Nickname: Xixi 茜茜 Birth date: 25/08/87 Birth place: Wuhan, China Height: 170cm Education: Beijing Film Academy Languages spoken: Mandarin, English and Japanese Profession: Actress and singer Favorite sports: Golf and tennis Favorite singers: Amuro Namie and Faye Wong
Crystal Liu Yi Fei was born in Beijing but spent her childhood mostly in Wuhan. Her father was a university professor while her mother a famous dancer and stage performer.
Liu Yi Fei was already modeling since 8 years old. A talented kid which was musically inclined that involves playing the piano, singing and dancing.
After the divorce of her birth parents, Yi Fei flew over to USA with her mother at the age of 10. Yi Fei only came back to China in 2002, where she was accepted into the prestigious Beijing Film Academy at the tender age of 15.
Just shortly after Yi Fei got into Beijing Film Academy in 2002, she received chances to star in a TV drama, “Story of a Noble Family”.
Liu Yi Fei then got her leading role in “Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils”, a swordfighting drama based on the legendary Jin Yong novel.
Yi Fei's age was a worry to many as neutrals were concerned about the performance she can produce, but she proved her critics wrong by showing them her maturity was beyond her age.
Liu Yi Fei starred in her first movie “Love of May” in 2003, followed by another movie “The Love Winner” in 2004.
It was however Crystal’s acting in another popular TV drama, “Chinese Paladin” in 2004 that made Yi Fei a superstar in China.
Chinese Paladin was adapted from a popular RPG game and both the TV drama and game were superhit in China. Yi Fei played the leading role ‘Ling Er’ and Ling-Er has became her nickname soon after. :)
In 2005/2006, Yi Fei made her fame as international superstar as ‘Xiao Long Nu’ in the drama "Return of the condor heroes". Its one of the best drama that really portray her talent.
Liu Yi Fei is becoming a singer too, she signed a record contract in August 2005 and has been learning singing and dancing in Japan and China since then. Yi Fei has released her first Japanese single in July 2006 and released her debut Chinese album in September the same year.
Crystal Liu decided to take a break from entertainment world in early 2007 to pursue her study in USA… but her plan was interrupted because she has the chance to act along side Jackie Chan and Jet Li in "The forbidden Kingdom".
To me, Yi Fei is a very pretty, girl-next-door, demure girl. The kind of girl every guy will die to bring home to show to their parents!
Shes only 20 and she has alot more to offer to her fans - me! Hopefully over time she'll get popular.. i'm always supporting u Yi fei!!
School has resumed and so the 3 princes finally decided to take a relaxing evening to catch a movie yesterday after the last lesson conducted by Alvin. As ever, the fit and healthy Leonard headed down to the gym to sweat out a little as he had concluded his lessons for the day earlier than Alvin.
"We are late!!" Aloy exclaimed! Checking upon his watch, Aloy realised that they are left with 15mins to the start of the movie and poor Leonard waiting alone at cineleisure for them. The ever cool Alvin was calm and tried reassured Aloy that time was on their side and we don't have to fear of being late.. it didn't take long for Aloy to calm Leonard down either. =p
Tata! Aloy and Alvin reached cine at 7.30pm and we hurriedly rushed for the elevator! But this type even Alvin was flustered. Little did the 2 princes expect to bump into Leonard inside the elevator as he had went to basement to grab abite. They thought Leonard would have given them a forlorn look on the face, luckily the ever so cheerful Leonard is smiling :) but.. that makes the 2 princes even more guilty of being late!!
As the 3 creeped into the dark cinema.. late for the starting introduction of the show.. Leonard kept reassuring we had one of the best seats - 2nd row from the front -.-'. Indeed very good seat. Got me excited for a moment.
The movie is indeed very action pack and for those that need thrills and some adrenaline pumping action movie, this is the show for u. With a strong casting which include one of the most beautiful woman, Angelina Jolie, its already a good reason to not get your girlfriend to watch it with u :D cos u might get spotted drooling as shes really hot in the movie.
The show ended at about 9.15? And the 3 princes decided to split and make their way back home. Not very long before we split, Prince Alvin has highlighted that his feeling quite unwell. Let's hope that he will recover fast enough to come back to the imperial annexe project!
On a summarize note, the movie base on my opinion is that this accounting manager got scammed into the hitman's organisation as he was lead to believe that his long lost father, an assassin, was assassinated.
He was then trained to follow into his father's footsteps.. only to realised his on the wrong side of the law.
Rainie Yang has always been one of my most supported singer/ actress of all time! Hailing from Taiwan and with a mere age of 24, this cutey pie has melted many guys hearts.. including mine =p
Name: Rainie Yang Cheng Lin Chinese name: 杨丞琳 Birthdate: 04/06/84 Birthplace: Taipei Height: 162cm Language spoken: Mandarin, Taiwanese dialect, Cantonese and Japanese Profession: Actress, singer and TV show host
She has a pet dog with the name of Yumi. During her free time, Rainie indulge into hobbies that include cuddling her dog, reading books or magazines and sleeping.
This cutesy princess likes black, white and gray colours. Its not surprising that her favourite country is Japan as we can conclude from her Japanese dressing style. Of cos her favourite food includes Japanese cuisines and any cooking method types of chicken.
Rainie started her entertainment career when she was 14, featuring in various commercials in Hong Kong.
When she was 15, she went for an audition and eventually selected to form the girl band "4 in love". It was there that they came up with the weather theme. Thus "Rainie" was formed.
Rainie stood out among the other girls in 4 In Love after starring in 2001 popular Taiwan TV mini-series “Meteor Garden.”
4 In Love released a few albums and was quite popular in Taiwan, but was sadly disbanded in 2002 due to personal issues. The other 3 members decided to pursue different interest, Only Rainie decided to continue her entertainment career.
Rainie's decision was a wise one and it got her a leading performance in 2002 superhit Taiwan TV drama “The Love Book.” It's also in the same year that she went into hosting. Co-host for the popular entertainment show in Taiwan, “Guess, Guess, Guess” with Jacky Wu.
Rainie’s another breakthrough was in 2005, she maintained her stardom with her acting in highly rated Taiwan drama, “Devil Beside You” alongside heartthrob Mike He Jun Xiang.
With the success of Devil Beside You, Rainie Yang went back to singing again… releasing her debut solo album “Ai Mei” in September 2005. With the assist of the popular TV drama and TV show she was involving, the album became a superhit, Rainie is recognised as a singer once again?
Rainie is also crowned as the "Cutesy Princess"! Rainie Yang released her 2nd solo album “Yu Shang Ai” in March 2006. Already a superstar in Taiwan, i won't be surprise if she receive stardom over asia soon :)
Why I like Rainie Yang Cheng Lin
Rainie is simply too cute to be true! This cute lass has such a sweet and cute voice, which i'm sure i won't get bored listening to =p
Always smiling and being cheerful is also a forte in her that makes people get attracted to her as it allows people to approach her without any fear!
Being talented and at the age of 24 is another plus point. At such a young age, she's already providing her talent to the showbiz circle and the fact that she still has many years to offer.. I don't see why her fan base can't grow :)
